Holiday Curbside Collection Schedule 

The Town of East Lyme Public Works Department has eliminated Saturday curbside collection.  There will be no trash or recycling pickup on the observed holidays listed below.

Trash and recycling collection during a week in which a holiday is observed will be as follows:

The trash and recycling route which falls on the holiday shall be picked up on the next business day after the holiday.

The "day after" a Friday holiday shall be the following Monday.
The remaining days of the week must be put to the curb on your regularly scheduled day.
If your trash is not picked up please leave the containers at the curb for an extra day so that the operators can catch up on collection during the next day.

The change in the holiday schedule eliminates weekend curbside collection and overtime expenditures.  This change is possible because of the re-conditioning of  trash and recycling trucks and new recycling program efficiencies.  As always, but especially during a holiday week, residents are encouraged to hold trash and recycling until the can is full to reduce pickups and reduce the time necessary for curbside collection.
