My life partner and the great love of my life passed away unexpectedly shortly before 5:00 a.m. the morning of December 26, 2009. Donna was the light that brightened our family and we are heartbroken over her passing.
Deputy First Selectman Mark Nickerson will be in Town Hall this week supported by the Board of Selectmen. I would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of support to my family and especially thank Resident Trooper Sergeant Bill Blanchette and the emergency crew who responded to try to save Donna.
Donna’s wake will be at St. Mathias Church Tuesday, December 29 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and the funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at St. Mathias at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in East Lyme Cemetery in Flanders following Mass.
The family asks that contributions in Donna’s name be directed toward the Salvation Army or the St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen both in Norwich or to St. Mathias Church in East Lyme.
This has been a difficult week as we all are still grieving the sudden loss of Eileen Wilson. It is a stark reminder of how fragile life is and the importance of Community. Thank you on behalf of both of our families during this very difficult time.
