Town Employees Surpass Goal

United Way

Thanks to the amazing generosity of the Town of East Lyme employees, we surpassed our goals for this year’s United Way Campaign.
United Way representatives, Brent and Carolyn, came to speak to our employees in November. They brought Gemma Moran, founder of the food bank named in her honor, to tell of some of the ways United Way helps those in southeastern CT.
Fifteen employees stepped up and pledged to contribute $2,625 to United Way in the coming year.  Last year 12 employees contributed $1939.  Our goals this year were to increase the number of participants by 2 and increase the total amount contributed by $200.  Our wonderful employees responded in their usual generous way and went beyond both goals.
On December 8, 2010, Carolyn and Brent presented a certificate to (pictured right) First Selectman Paul Formica and campaign coordinator Renée Fecteau.
