TOWN OF EAST LYME
NOTICE OF ADJOURNED TOWN MEETING
AND REFERENDUM


Pursuant to Section 7-7 of the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut, as amended, notice is hereby given to the electors and citizens qualified to vote in Town Meetings of the Town of East Lyme that an Adjourned Town Meeting and Referendum will be held at the East Lyme Community Center on Society Road on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, between the hours of 8 AM and 8 PM for the purpose of voting on the following question:


“Shall the resolution entitled ‘Resolution Making Appropriations Aggregating $3,450,000
For Various Capital Improvements And Authorizing The Issuance Of $3,450,000 Bonds of The Town To Meet Said Appropriation And Pending The Issuance Thereof The Making Of Temporary Borrowings For Such Purpose’ as introduced at a Special Town Meeting held February 15, 2012, be approved”


The ballot label for said question shall read as follows:
“Shall the appropriation and bond authorization of $3,450,000 for Various Capital Improvements including the ELHS athletic complex and parking lot upgrade in the Town of
East Lyme be approved?”


Voting will be by optical scan voting machine. Absentee votes may be cast and will be counted in the office of the Registrars of Voters. Absentee ballots may be applied for, in person, in the office of the Town Clerk. The Town Clerk will be open on Saturday, February 25 from 10AM to Noon for absentee voting.  Those persons voting as taxpayers and not registered voters will also vote at the Community Center. Their names must appear on the last completed Grand List of the Town being the October 1, 2011 Grand List with a minimum assessment of $1,000. Voting will take place pursuant to the provisions of the General Statutes, as amended. The votes will be cast and canvassed and the results determined and certified as nearly as may be in accordance with the laws governing the election of Town officials. The full text of said resolution is on file open to public inspection at the office of the Town Clerk.
